LOCAL JOBS AND INDUSTRY

We are committed to maximising opportunities for local business and workers to participate in the Project.

There will be significant opportunities for local industry and people during the construction and operations phase.

Opportunities during construction:

• We estimate that 80 per cent of the jobs created during construction can be filled by people living in Queensland.

• Approximately half of all jobs created during construction can be filled by people living in Wide Bay.

• Local material resources, including sand, rock and road materials will be used and will require trucking operators to deliver raw materials to the turbines.

• Earth-movers, concreters, electrical fitters, crane operators, electrical and mechanical fitters, engineering and project managers and administrative staff will undertake the works.

• Approximately 25 per cent of contracted works will be sourced from Queensland, 16 per cent from the Wide Bay region.

Opportunities during operations:

• We estimate that around 90 per cent of the jobs created during operations will be locally sourced and be Wide Bay based positions.

• A range of civil, mechanical, electrical and administrative positions will be required.

Over the life of the project, indirect jobs in a range of support services will be created, including in:

• retail trade, accommodation, health care, education and training and transport.

The source of labour and contracts is a current estimate and is subject to change in the design and procurement phase. Forest Wind is committed to develop and implement a comprehensive local content plan in consultation with local stakeholders and suppliers.
