Community Engagement

Forest Wind is committed to building and maintaining strong and effective relationships with the local community.

We are genuine in seeking input and feedback from our community to maximise the benefits of the Forest Wind project. We aim to regularly share up-to-date project information and keep an open dialogue with local residents, community groups, stakeholders and the wider community on interests and issues relating to the Project.

Throughout the development phase we have worked hard to inform the community of the project and seek feedback. Some of the engagement activities have included:

  • Arranging six community information sessions in the suburbs of Kia Ora, Tinana (Maryborough), Poona, Bauple and Boonooroo.

  • Delivering information packs to 900 properties within 5km of the proposed site.

  • Continuing discussions and negotiations with potential host property owners along the proposed transmission line route.

  • Issuing regular project updates to our stakeholder database of more than 700 subscribers.

  • Providing regular briefings to local councillors, Members of Parliament and other community and environmental stakeholder groups

  • Working collaboratively with the First Nations Kabi Kabi and Butchulla people.

We will continue to work closely with all stakeholders as the project progresses from development through to design and construction. We welcome your feedback directly via our email info@forestwind.com.au or via phone 1800 938 458.
